Where Is Panic Hardware Required?
Panic hardware is required in any building that is open to the public. They are designed for use in case of an emergency and will allow easy exit from the building, whilst keeping the building secure the rest of the time.
Different Types Of Panic Hardware
There are two main standards when it comes to emergency exits and panic hardware. Luckily we have products which suit either requirement.
EN 1125
These standards are meant for panic exit devices. This means that if there is an emergency that nobody should have an issue with using the device to exit the building and are therefore designed for use in public buildings. EN 1125 devices are usually operated by a horizontal bar.

EN 179
The EN 179 standard is designed for emergency exits where the person exiting the building is likely to be familiar with the building emergency exit protocol. They are therefore often used in workplaces such as office buildings.
