How To Choose The Right Cylinder Lock Case
When replacing any part of the lock we would usually recommend replacing like for like in terms of the size of the lock and how it’s fixed. This means that you can easily replace the old for new. With this mind here’s the key measurements you’ll want to match up when choosing a new cylinder lock case:
- Centres: This is the distance between the handle spindle and where the centre of the keyhole will be located.
- Case Height and Width: This is the height and width of the center and will need to match the current lock case, otherwise the hole in which the lock fits will need to be enlarged.
- Faceplate Width: This is the thickness of the faceplate on the lock case which is the plate which goes along the inside of the door.
