Product Information

This Fuhr 935 - Stable Door multipoint door lock features 1 Roller, 1 Hook, 1 Deadbolt & 1 Latch.

The Fuhr 935 Stable Door Multipoint lock is supplied in two separate parts as the door can be operated in two halves. The top element can be opened independently, providing excellent ventilation, while keeping pets and children secure, or even to retain an element of security while talking to a guest. The two elements can also be used together, as a normal single door.

Fuhr Stable Door gearing consists of 2 locking mechanisms, which can operate independently or in tandem. A purpose designed right angle bracket provides added strength to the interlocking sashes.

The top section, a 859 series split spindle operation lock, incorporates a hook, roller, latch and deadbolt.

The lower section is a 855 series key operated and also incorporates a bottom shootbolt, hook, roller and a key operated deadbolt but no latch.

Fuhr stable door multipoint door locks feature two gearboxes. The top section is a split spindle, and the bottom section is key wind. Both gearboxes feature a deadbolt which throws 20mm. The gearbox measures 220mm x width + 18mm. The latch (top section only) and deadbolt are both 31mm high and there is 61mm between the bottom of the latch and the top of the deadbolt. Gearboxes are fixed to faceplates with 3 screws. The distance from the top screw to the middle screw is 91mm and the distance from the middle to bottom screw is 108mm.

Fuhr locks feature a ball bearing and spring pre-fitted. There is a tiny notch on the sliding internal strip that the ball bearing engages (under spring tension) and give a more positive locking feel when handle operated. If you try a lock without this spring and ball bearing fitted, you'll notice the difference. Some replacement gearboxes on the market are sold without the ball bearing and spring, but all of Duffells' replacement Fuhr gearboxes come with these pre-fitted for a direct swap.

When replacing an existing Fuhr multipoint lock or gearbox, you may find that the latch differs. This can cause problems when the latch locates in the keep. Old versions of Fuhr multipoint lock gearboxes had a latch that was 28mm high, whereas newer versions are 33mm high. If the latch on the old lock is not damaged, it is possible to remove it by undoing the allen key bolt in the old gearbox, removing it and re-using it in the new lock.

Fuhr hooks feature a 20mm throw from a hook case that measures 135.5mm high x 40mm wide x 15mm thick. Hooks on Fuhr multipoint door locks normally all throw upwards, rather than being bi directional as some other brands are.

Roller cams on Fuhr UPVC door locks travel 19mm with a roller cam adjustment of +/- 0.8mm.

Operation: Split Spindle

To operate as a normal single door: unlock both cylinders to retract the deadbolts and push the lever to disengage locking points. When the bottom section is unlocked by the cylinder, the top shootbolt is thrown which connects to the top section.

To operate as Stable door: unlock the top section cylinder to retract the deadbolt and push the lever to disengage the locking points. The top section of the door can then be opened independently.

To lock the door

1. Lift the handle upwards to engage the locking points.

2. Lock the locking points and main deadbolt (if present) by turning the key.

To unlock the door

1. Unlock the system by turning the key.

2. Push the handle downwards to disengage the locking points and retract the latch.
