Product Information

This Maco C-TS multipoint door lock features 4 Rollers, 2 Hooks, 1 Deadbolt & 1 Latch.

The CTS lock is the new range from Maco but the locking points are in different positions so do not directly replace old locks.

Maco Protect C-TS locks were introduced in 2012 and largely replaced the old G-TS range (although they are not a straight swap). C-TS locks feature a split spindle and can be used as a lift lever or split spindle function, hence providing a single replacement for the GTS series.

Maco C-TS multipoint door locks are identified by the Maco logo on the faceplate and by checking the shape of the locking gearboxes once removed.

C-TS locks are available in traditional 16mm and 20mm faceplates, with some versions also available as a "Top Hat" faceplate. This innovative faceplate consists of a 16mm faceplate, that sits in the euro groove, with a 24mm top faceplate that covers any routing detail for a perfect finish.

C-TS locks all feature a split spindle and is a relatively recent addition to the Maco range. As mentioned, they supersede the G-TS range but are not a direct swap. Locking points are in different positions and if the lock is tightly fitted to the door, some work will be required. Keeps will also need to be moved.

Maco Protect C-TS locks have a distinctive rounded shape to both the main gearbox and the hook boxes. The main gearbox corner, next to the euro cut out is particularly rounded.

Measuring 202mm high, they are one of the smaller gearboxes on the market. They also feature a distinctive "soft" latch, which appears to be split in half. It's worth noting that Maco does offer different variants of these latches, so this latch is not conclusive when identifying this lock.

Both the latch and deadbolt on these locks measure 30mm high, with 55mm between them. They are held onto the faceplate with 3 screws. The top screw to the centre measures 102mm and the centre screw to the bottom screw measures 110mm.

When measuring the backset, allow 2-3mm for the faceplate, so a 35mm backset gearbox will measure 32mm when not fixed to the strip.

If your lock looks like a C-TS but has the top corner of the gearbox missing, it's probably an A-TS version, which is automatic locking. We stock replacement locks for Maco A-TS locks.

Maco Protect C-TS Multipoint door locks feature a couple of different hook-locking arrangements.

The first is a standard uni-directional hook which normally throws upwards, regardless of whether the hook is at the top or the bottom of the door.

The second type of hook is a hook and anti-lift pin, which is higher security. Anti-lift pins provide additional protection against attack and also require special keeps because of the proximity of the pin and the hook bolt.

Maco refer to their rollers as i.S. cams which are made of hardened steel to resist attack.

These i.S cams work in the same way as rollers which are used for compression, to pull the door against the frame, to help prevent dust or water ingress. They do little for security, but they also have the added benefit of helping to prevent the door from becoming warped as it is supported across its full height. This is dependent on the rollers being engaged in their keeps.

Rollers are normally adjustable by 1mm to help achieve optimum weather sealing.
