Product Information
The Soudal High Yield Fire Rated Foam Filler is a one component expanding polyurethane foam designed for fire resistant applications. It expands 35 to 40 times its initial volume and offers more than 25% higher linear yield compared to standard Soudafoam FR foam. This fire rated foam filler provides thermal and acoustic insulation and meets several international fire standards, including EN13501-2 class E for reaction to fire and EN1366-4 for fire resistance up to 4 hours depending on joint configuration.
This foam filler is used as a large gap filler in passive fire protection systems, for installing fire retardant window and door frames, and for sealing expansion joints, connection joints, and penetration seals. It cures rapidly and adheres without the need for a primer on most construction materials. Fresh foam can be removed with Soudal Gun & Foamcleaner or acetone, while cured foam requires mechanical removal or Soudal PU-Remover. Surfaces should be free of grease and dust and moistened with water prior to application. The aerosol can must be shaken thoroughly before use and during application.

Fitment & What to Check
- Confirm that substrate surfaces are clean, free from grease and dust before application
- Moisten surfaces with water prior to foam application
- Shake aerosol can for at least 20 seconds before use and regularly during application
- Fill cavities only one third at a time to allow for expansion
- Test adhesion on non-conventional substrates before full application
- Use appropriate cleaning agents for fresh foam removal and mechanical means for cured foam removal
Common Ordering Mistakes
- Ordering without confirming compatibility with the substrates to be sealed
- Neglecting to prepare surfaces by cleaning and moistening prior to application
- Overfilling cavities without allowing for expansion
- Failing to shake the aerosol can sufficiently before and during use
