Product Information

This Lockmaster AutoEngage multipoint door lock features 1 Deadbolt, 1 Latch & 2 Autolatches.

The Yale Lockmaster AutoEngage multipoint lock features automatic locking and is unique in the lockmaster range. It is also known as a "slam shut" lock.

Two security latches automatically fire when the door is closed, giving up to 20mm deadbolt engagement into the keeps. The is no need to lift the handle to achieve locking but the door can be deadlocked via the key or thumb turn.

Yale AutoEngage multipoint door locks feature distinctive deadlatch locking points, which closely resemble a standard latch, found in the main gearbox.

These locks are suitable for both timber and composite doors and are available as a Classic, with the main gearbox in the middle of the door, and Heritage, where the main gearbox is situated at the height of a traditional timber door night latch.

These locks will commonly be fitted with contemporary pull handles, rather than lever on plate multipoint lock handles.

Yale Lockmaster AutoEngage gearboxes look quite different to regular Lockmaster gearboxes and measure only 201mm high. The top of the gearbox is 82mm from the spindle and the gearboxes feature a groove to accept bolt through fixings.

The AutoEngage gearbox is available in 45mm or 55mm backsets and is designed for use on timber and composite doors.

Gearboxes are attached to faceplates with 3 screws and cannot be interchanged with other lockmaster locks.

When measuring the backset, allow 2-3mm for the faceplate, so a 28mm backset gearbox will measure 25mm when not fixed to the strip.

Lockmaster AutoEngage multipoint door locks feature external locking deadlatches which have an activation trigger just above them. On closing the door, the activation snib is triggered as it touches the keep, throwing the deadlatch up to 20mm into the keeps.

Classic locks feature 2 deadlatches, whereas the Heritage version features 3, to provide additional locking in the centre of the door.

Operation: Automatic Locking

To lock the door

1. On closing the door, the latch and locking points are automatically engaged as the triggers on the door connect with the keeps on the frame.

2. Turn the key to deadlock the mechanism.

To unlock the door

1. Turn the key to unlock the mechanism.

2. If you have a lever, push the lever down to retract the locking points. Alternatively, a further quarter turn of the key will retract the latch to open the door.
