Product Information

Nightlatches are a common locking product found mainly on residential front doors. They ordinarily feature a single sprung latch locking point which engages automatically when the door is shut, securing the property.

These long established classic Yale No.2 Auto Deadlocking Nightlatches feature an automatic deadlocking system and are designed for inward opening doors. with anti-carding and anti-bump protection, these 40mm nightlatches come supplied with Yale's 1109 5 pin rim cylinder and 2 keys. Designed for doors with a thickness between 32mm - 57mm, these nightlatches operate with a key from outside and a lever handle from the inside.

The anti-thrust snib present on this nightlatch, offers protection from 'latch slipping'. The snib is automatically depressed by the strike plate. When in the depressed position, internal components within the nightlatch physically prevent the main latch from being withdrawn into the lock case. This ensures the latch cannot be manipulated back into the lock case whilst the door is in the closed position.

With an internal lockable handle, and the anti thrust snib as mentioned above, the Yale No.2 nightlatch offers a good level of security.

This 40mm backset nightlatch is specifically designed for doors with narrow stiles that cannot accept the larger 60mm backset of standard nightlatches.

This nightlatch features a means of mechanical holdback which allows the sprung latch bolt to be physically retained within the body of the nightlatch. When this feature is activated, the latch will not engage when the door closes, therefore the door will not be secured. It is important to consider if this is a feature that is desirable for the application in question as in some circumstances the possibility of the door not being secured may cause issues. Also, some mechanical holdback devices also allow the latch to be secured in the locked position preventing access even when a key is used from outside deadlocking the door. It should also be considered if this is suitable for the application.

Operated by Key from the outside, and by small lever handle from inside with internal cylinder for deadlocking the lever.
